Solar energy in Belarus

Rubric: To the main

Do scientists and practitioners from pilot production of solar modules have no doubts that produce electricity from the sun in the countries of comparable brightness with our republic, it is quite appropriate. A striking example - Germany, which by 2020 plans to invest in this area of substantial funds.

Солнце

The territory of our country is located between 56 th and 51 th degrees of north latitude, which determines the angle of incidence of sunlight, length of day and sunshine, what has caused the number of incoming solar radiation. During the year, the angle of the sun at noon varies by 47 °, the duration of the day - more than 10 hours.

The annual arrival of the total solar radiation increases from northern to southern areas - from 3500 to 4050 MJ/m2 (84-97 Kcal/cm2). Overcast days there are between 175 on the north-west to 135 south-east, clear - from 30-35 per year in the northwest to 40-42 on the south-east. Most parts of most cloudless days is in March - April, and only in the southeast - in July - September.

СолнцеThe duration of sunshine on average per year 1730-1950 hours, increasing to the southeast. It is minimal in autumn and winter (when there are about 20 days a month without a bright sun), and on other days has an average of 3 hours. In May - July the sun does not show only 1-3 days per month, with a separate length of lights about 16 hours. May, June and July together account for approximately 48% of the annual arrival of the total solar radiation, and November, December and January - only 5%.

Thus, in Belarus, the light level is higher than in Germany. At the same time, according to the European Inter-Academy Council (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), the annual electricity production from conventional solar plant of 1 kW at the end of 2005 in this country amounted to 900 kW • h. Stationary solar power plant with a record efficiency of 20% and a peak power of 1 kW generates it for the year 2 thousand kW • h.

For comparison: in the Sahara desert, the figure above does not at times - up to 3.5 thousand kW • h. When installing a tracking system for sun power output under the same conditions increased to 2.8 thousand kW • h / kWh in Germany and up to 5 thousand kW • h / kW in the Sahara.

Солнечная панельAnalysis of years of research shows that ordinary solar plants with capacity of 1 kW up to 70% of the territory of our country could receive more than 900 kW • h, 25% - 975 kW • h and at 5% - 1050 kW • h. This means that the potential efficiency of solar plants in our country only due to favorable conditions of insolation is 10% higher than in Poland, the Netherlands, and more than 17% - than in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Great Britain, not to mention of countries in the north. In short, the location of the republic, its latitude, altitude, and meteorological conditions are not limiting factors for the development of solar power.
